Our Mission

Georgia Tech Lavender Alumni (GTLA) is the LGBTQIA+ alumni affinity group for all graduates who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. Our mission is to foster a vibrant social community of LGBTQIA+ alumni and their allies, build a professional network that can assist in the career development of LGBTQIA+ alumni and students, and promote educational opportunities and dialogue around issues that are important to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Committees

GTLA has six working groups open for volunteers. Reach out to the board if interested in joining any of the following working groups:

Newsletter

  • Coordinate the quarterly newsletter
  • Collect information to include in newsletter throughout the year

Mentorship

  • Assist in the matching process of mentors to mentees in the LGBTQIA Mentorship Program
  • Plan events to encourage mentor-mentee relations

Social Media

  • Assist in moderating the Instagram and Twitter accounts of GTLA
  • Execute creative initiatives to foster community engagement

LinkedIn

  • Moderate GTLA's private LinkedIn group
  • Execute creative initiatives to promote professional development

Events

  • Assist in planning signature and casual events
  • Complete administrative tasks for event coordination

Website

  • Develop the GTLA website
  • Update website with information as needed

Support Roll Call

Roll Call is Georgia Tech’s Fund for Excellence and it supports the Institute’s academic mission. Through Roll Call, the Georgia Tech Alumni Association has given millions of dollars from alumni like you to Georgia Tech to fund student scholarships, state-of-the-art programs, world-class buildings and much more.
